Good Music and Good Grades - My Good Friday

John Mayer has such good sportsmanship. He noticed that Kendrick Lamar's much-anticipated 3rd album was coming out on the same day his album was. He said:

That's my buddy.
So, I'm so excited because I'm pretty sure I aced the hell out of my Organic Chemistry exam.

I listened to both John and Kendrick's album. Guess which one I bought.

John Mayer, sigh. Why...?

Why did you leave all your best songs for the last moment?

My eyes literally rolled back at all of the great riffs and the new stories he gave us from the 4 last four songs. I'm so mad that he made me say all these bad things about him only to rock a whole ass new album with just a few duds that I might honestly like once he performs them live and I can watch them online. Seriously, this album. Give me a few more listens and I might just buy it.

KENDRICK LAMAR'S ALBUM is quite honestly another masterpiece. I remember what he said last time when "To Pimp a Butterfly" came out. To just live and breathe the piece of work and think about like it's a book. People were calling it "THE BEST CONCEPTUAL RAP ALBUM OF ALL TIME" but I won't yet. They are doing that again 2 years later. I'd just like to say that he should really be proud of bringing out another vision to add to his legacy of speaking about his struggle and his dreams for his future. Congratulations.

Obviously I haven't read any lyrics yet but I'm just expressing my thoughts from my first listen.

1. BTW: I really do need to see the lyrics. He is PrEaChInG.
2. It all connects. Can't you see? It connects. I love stories that do that. (geeking out)
3. Rihanna did a great job in her feature. U2 too. (hehe) I don't know who Zacari is but I'm willing to find out.
4. His storytelling is my dream. I wish I could tell stories and construct storylines like him.
5. His detail to sound is amazing. The different tones that he goes through, the different undulations, the different accents, they all mean different things that created depth to the songs and give more to hunt for as listeners. He did the same in "To Pimp a Butterfly".

I kinda wish that Humble was little higher on the tracklist. However, I do understand how it progressed with the story.

I listened to the album on high volume in my car on my commute home for school and I don't know what I did to deserve such a blessed day.

And BTS posted on Twitter.

And Daewon of Madtown did a live that I was there for.

And I got my new glasses.

;))))))
